Systems Administrator

As a Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining and ensuring the efficient operation of an organization’s IT infrastructure. Your primary role involves managing servers, networks, and associated systems to guarantee high availability, security, and performance. You will play a critical part in troubleshooting technical issues, implementing system upgrades, and providing user support. A successful Systems Administrator possesses strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining an organization’s IT environment at peak efficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities

System Maintenance and Support:

  • Perform routine system administration tasks, including server maintenance, software updates, and system monitoring.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Manage and maintain servers, storage, and networking equipment to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

Security and Compliance:

  • Implement and maintain security best practices to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Work within Azure to monitor and maintain Microsoft Endpoint security infrastructure.

User Support:

  • Provide technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Assist with user account management and access control.
  • Onboarding of new employees and off-boarding of departing employees
  • Setup and shipment of new and replacement end user hardware/peripherals
  • Triage and manage help desk tickets.
  • Create and maintain help desk knowledge base articles.

Collaboration and Teamwork:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement IT projects and initiatives.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide after-hours support when necessary.

 

Required Skills / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • 3-7 years of experience in system administration.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows server operating systems.
  • Current usages of Microsoft Cloud technologies such as Intune, Azure AD, and Office 365
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols.
  • Knowledge of security best practices
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Networking i.e., LAN/WAN (Juniper, Dell, Ubiquiti, etc.)
  • Experience supporting conference room technology and VoIP technology
  • Experience working with vendors for service related issues
