Responsibilities and Job Duties
- Check, understand and review the painting, coating and wrapping project specification and ITP which will follow according to the work in the project
- Carry out inspection of surface profile, chloride contamination test as per applicable standards
- Monitor weather and equipment condition during painting, coating operation
- Ensure that paint materials are used from approved paint manufacturers with valid pot life
- Ensure that the application of coating is carried out as per technical data sheet of the manufacturer and approved painting specification
- Ensure the proper time intervals between intermediate coats for proper chemical and mechanical bonding
- Witness / checking of DFT (dry film thickness) and holiday detection / pin hole detections and Ensure the calibrated testing equipment is used
- Monitor surface preparation, application of bonding agent , elastomeric , wrapping and curing operation (for neoprene coating) on the pipe
- Witness post curing tests such as hardness, spark test, sound test, adhesion test, visual and dimensional check etc. on the pipe
- Monitor surface preparation, application of heat shrink sleeves, holiday test on field weld joints
Qualification Requirements
- NACE Coating II
- Certified Insulation Inspector
- Certified Fireproofing
