Well Certification

PPI works with owners and operators to determine safety-critical elements (SCE) and appropriate performance standards. We collaborate with customers to develop the verification scheme for the lifecycle of the installation.

The verification process examines the safety-critical equipment and the associated program of inspection and maintenance. It assures performance standards are achieved and maintained. Independent verification provides confidence to the operator and to regulators in the suitability of risk management measures. It also confirms that the plans for operation and maintenance meet appropriate standards.

Certification is an independent review to determine if an equipment or material meets specified requirements.

The certification process typically involves the following:

  • Design review/appraisal
  • Traceability of material and review mill certificates
  • Assessment of manufacturer QA/QC dossiers (data books)
  • Review of personnel qualification (welders, NDT, heat treatment)
  • Survey of the fabrication and witnessing of NDT examinations
  • Review vendor’s test reports and certificates Witnessing of factory acceptance tests.

Several types of certification exist depending on the product type and its application.

 

From a risk-based perspective, PPI assesses the functionality of assets to ensure they will operate as expected, minimizing risks and maximizing performance. This service line encompasses the following types of studies:

  • Technical safety and risk management
  • Production assurance and reliability engineering Asset integrity management.

PPI specialists execute and lead different assessments including the following: Risk-based studies and workshops facilitation (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, FMECA) Quantitative and analytical studies (e.g. RAM modeling, SIL verification, RBI) Qualitative studies (e.g. RCFA, RCM) Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Acting as an extension of our client’s team, PPI provides engineering and operations support. Embedded in our client’s organization, our subject matter experts design and operate facilities on behalf of our clients.

Activities managed by PPI include:

  • Managing projects, supplying engineering staff, and providing operations personnel for oil and gas operators worldwide
  • Managing drilling, completion, workover, and plug-and-abandonment operations
  • Providing onsite personnel for oil and gas facilities and fields throughout the world
